EGF gets Creative Europe backing

The European Genre Forum, a training cycle for emerging genre filmmakers with talent labs in Amsterdam, Zagreb and Tallinn has been awarded a two year grant from Creative Europe MEDIA. The programme starts in 2017.

Created in 2014, the European Genre Forum (EGF) sets to boost the careers of future players in the European genre industry through four days of trainings, panels and pitching sessions. The event, jointly organized by the Imagine Film Festival in Amsterdam, the Fantastic Zagreb Film Festival, the Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn and Screen Division in Paris, has just been awarded a two year grant support from the Creative Europe MEDIA Sub-Programme.

As of 2017, the European Genre Forum will feature three different labs: a director’s lab, a producer’s lab and a marketing & packaging lab, each taking place at one of the three festivals, offering a complete overview of the film business to upcoming genre director/producer teams. A more detailed program will be unveiled during the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalunya in October.
